Train for 2012 with the Pasadena Pacers!
The Pasadena Marathon is pleased to offer a free training program in partnership with the Pasadena Pacers. Whether you’re preparing for the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K or 5K, we have the training regimen that’s right for you.
The Pasadena Pacers provide a structured training program for runners (or soon-to-be runners) of all fitness and experience levels. While training with the Pasadena Pacers will prepare you physically for 2012, an equally important aspect of the program is that you will become part of a community of friends who will cheer your successes and support you when you’re feeling challenged. If you’re not keen on having a few new pals, this is NOT the training program for you!

You Get
A lot! You’ll find that the physical preparation you receive from training with the Pasadena Pacers, along with the camaraderie of working toward a common goal with a bunch of like-minded folks, is priceless!
While the Pasadena Pacers do not dispense medical advice, Team Chiropractor, Steve Smith, will help to resolve problems related to running injuries at no charge during training meetings. He will also provide an injury prevention clinic early in the training program.
Did we mention that the Pacers also hike? Hiking is excellent cross training, and all participants are invited to join in weekly hikes ranging from 3 – 15 miles with varying degrees of difficulty. Hiking locations change from week to week, and are posted on the Pasadena Hiking Pacers website and Facebook.
You Give…
Again, the Pasadena Pacers training program is free of charge. We do ask that you purchase a training shirt and wear it on Saturday runs as well as during organized race events. A Pasadena Marathon/Pacers special-edition training shirt will soon be available for purchase at our online store. Alternatively, the traditional red Pasadena Pacers shirt can be purchased during the Saturday training meeting. You’ll wear that shirt proudly, we can assure you!
Being an organization comprised entirely of volunteers, members are expected to chip in once during the season by manning a water station, or donating juice, fruit, or bagels & cream cheese for post-training fuel. This one-time commitment will not be burdensome, and your contributions will go far in helping to keep the Pacers Machine well oiled!
