Office and Event Management Intern
About the Internship – The mission of the Pasadena Marathon is to support Pasadena Forward, a nonprofit organization established to promote and support the growth of charitable, civic and education-advancing organizations in the City of Pasadena.
Duties of the part-time Office & Events Management intern may include but are not limited to the following:
- Event Planning
- Administrative Assistance
- Marketing and Public Relations
- Sponsor and Vendor Relations
Not only will all interns work towards accomplishing specific goals and assignments, they will also work as part of a larger team. Team tasks are anything from cleaning up, answering phones, attending meetings, and working on key areas relating to the organization and events, along side all members of the staff and Race Committee.
About the Pasadena Marathon – The race will take place on June 30, 2013 featuring a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and Kids Run. The course features areas of interest throughout this historic Southern California city, including Pasadena’s beautiful residential neighborhoods, lively Old Pasadena, lush gardens, and other cultural landmarks.
This event attracts participants from all over the world. In its first year it debuted in the top 50 of events in the nation in terms of number of participants. The year-round efforts to produce the event are spearheaded by a small staff and a dedicated group of key volunteers. A long-term goal is to grow the event to 15,000 participants per year, and to be recognized as one of the most proficiently organized events in the world.
