Kids Run FAQs

What is the current Kids Run registration fee?
The Kids Run registration fee is $15.00.

How do I register?
Easy online registration can be found right here at pasadenamarathon.org.

Is there Race Day registration?
While we are unable to process Race Day registrations for our other events, we will be able to register Kids Run participants on Race Day assuming that the event has not sold out by that time.

Is there Expo registration?
We will offer registration at the Health & Fitness Expo for any event that has not sold out. Because there are registration caps for all events, some events will sell out prior to the Expo. Don't risk it—register now!

What time does the Kids Run start?
9:00 a.m.

How many miles is the Kids Run?
There are two options for the Kids Run: a 1/2K (less than 1/3 mile) and a 1K (less than 2/3 mile).

Is there a map of the Kids Run course?
Click here to view the course map.

Is the race timed?
No, the Kids Run is an untimed event.

How many people will participate in the Kids Run?
Approximately 200.

Is there a cap on how many people can participate in the Kids Run?
Yes, there are registration caps for all events, and every year some Pasadena Marathon events sell out prior to the Expo. Avoid the disappointment of a sellout and register early!

How long does my child have to complete the Kids Run?
Participants should complete the Kids Run within approximately 30 minutes, which is plenty of time for children to cross the Finish before streets reopen to vehicle traffic.

So, do kids actually have to run the whole time?
All kids are winners in this low-pressure event—we just want the tots to have a chance to participate in the Race Day excitement. Walking, skipping, hopping, dancing and sprinting are all great ways to cross the Finish!

Can children in wheelchairs participate?
Absolutely.

Can I push my child in a stroller in the Kids Run?
If you have paid for your child to participate in the Kids Run, you may push him or her in a stroller on the Kids Run course.

What is the minimum participant age?
There is no minimum participant age for the Kids Run. While we are confident in the safety of our racecourse, parents are always ultimately responsible for the wellbeing of their children. Therefore, if you have concerns about your child's safety while participating in the Kids Run, you may walk or jog on the Kids Run course to accompany your child.

Can we bring our dog?
Our apologies to your Best Running Buddy—no dogs (or any other animal) on the racecourse.

Can my child skate the distance?
Roller skates, inline skates, skateboards, scooters, bikes, trikes, and other similar wheeled recreational conveyances are not permitted on the racecourse.

What goodies does my child get?
While Kids Run participants don't get t-shirts, they will receive their own special, kid-friendly bag of goodies at the KidsZone on Race Day.

How do I get my child's bib?
Kids Run participants may pick up their race packets (which include bibs) at the Health & Fitness Expo or at the KidsZone on Race Day. Check back soon for more details on Expo date, time, and location. Parents please note: ONLY Kids Run registrants have the option of collecting race packets on Race Day. If you have registered for other events, you must pick up race packets at the Health & Fitness Expo. APART FROM THE KIDS RUN, THERE IS NO RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP UNLESS YOU SELECT THE VIP OPTION DURING THE ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCESS AND PAY THE ADDITIONAL $25 fee.

What if I can't make it to the Expo?
If you know in advance that you won't be able to attend the Expo, and you do not wish to select the VIP option, someone else may pick up your race packet at the Expo on your behalf. They will need to present a photocopy of your Driver's License, State or Military-issued ID card, or Student ID card in order to retrieve your materials. But again, if you are picking up ONLY the Kids Run packet and you are unable to attend the Expo, this may be done on Race Day.

By the way, what is a KidsZone?
The KidsZone is a great way to keep both children and parents happy! Our KidsZone is a secure area at the Finish Line Festival with games, crafts, and other fun activities for children 3-10 years of age. Entry is free of charge. Children must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian while in the KidsZone.
Kids zone is free for kids who register. Kids not registered can use it as long as they want for $5 all access pass.

More details soon!

What about directions to the Start, carpool options, parking, and other logistical info?
We understand that you're ready to map out your Race Weekend—trust us, we're anxious to nail down these details, too! But don't worry, we'll get lots of good information to you in the coming months. The Big Email (our internal designation for the messaging we send to registered participants in the week prior to Race Weekend) will provide all the nitty-gritty, so stay tuned!

Thanks for your interest in the 2012 Pasadena Marathon!
